1st June 2016, Tonbridge. Day 1 of 365.

I was away with the family for half-term holidays. After a couple of months of dabbling with 30-day creative projects such as #CreativeSprint and FMS Photoaday, I had a real desire to try a longer creative challenge.

I was keen to choose a workable and sustainable theme, to do: at home, when out and about, working or travelling. Sitting in a minimally furnished family-room in a Premier Inn, it occurred to me:  cups are something you would have access to, pretty much everywhere.

The first day prompt in the 365 Creativity Journal is: make something only with objects you have to hand, that you can hold in the palm of your hand. Here I was lucky, as we’d been to the local Hobbycraft to get some bits and pieces to occupy my two children. So, my first cup was constructed from blue card and washi tape, with a nod to the angular art deco designs of Clarice Cliff. And so the challenge began…
